Robert Ross,

AIA

Architect

A graduate of Georgia Tech, Robert has since put down deep roots living inside the perimeter, where he’s watched Atlanta transform into the urban center it is today.

His architectural career began as a draftsman at Architectural Design Concepts in 1984 where he advanced to Vice President for Design by 1997. But he always felt the need to express his own concepts and designs, which culminated in the founding of Ross Design, Inc.

Believing strongly that you should practice what you preach, Robert has lived in the same home in the Ormewood Park neighborhood for almost three decades. And it’s here that he’s slowly evolved his home to match the changing needs of his family, while working to improve the community.

When he’s not creating, you’ll find Robert in the garden where he’s transformed the landscape of his backyard into a lush parklike setting. And, while he does love a good walk on the Beltline, visit to a museum or live theater, his love of architectural design is never far from his mind, planning many family vacations around historical sites and tours.

JH Monti

Intern Architect

Joseph Henry graduated from the Georgia Tech Undergraduate Architecture Program in 2023. He grew up attending St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church and singing in the choir every Sunday. He has always been passionate about singing and is currently singing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus. JH learned basic woodshop and project planning skills by participating in the construction of elaborate sets for the theatre program at his high school.

His life-long hobby of enjoying artistically crafted video games has exposed him to a plethora of digital spaces, all constructed carefully by artists intending to invoke a specific emotional quality within the player. These experiences help him understand how lighting, materiality, soundscape, and circulation pathways come together to create a space that allows its inhabitants to feel the way they desire to, and increase their quality of life.

He understands that the built environments we inhabit exert a great influence on the way we lead our lives. Thus, he recognizes the importance of empathizing with and understanding the desired lifestyles of the future inhabitants of spaces he designs as a mechanism to creating an appropriately accommodating habitation.
