Sunset Cove, a Pacific coast retreat for a collector of art
Perched on a bluff with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and adjacent protected headlands, this project doubled the size of the original 1970s home. With upper floor living spaces, all the principal rooms enjoy a dramatic ocean view. The key to the success of this design is the split-level entry. Window openings were strategically placed to maximize privacy and foster a sense of seclusion for this retreat. This project required extensive coordination with the California Coastal Commission.
