Perhaps the greatest challenge for a renovation architect is to balance the existing character of a home while raising it up to contemporary standards. In this instance, we restored part of the porch and created a true stair hall foyer to create a unified sense of entry. The central 4 sided center chimney with original mantels remained a strong feature.
