Every piece of a project, no matter how minor, reinforces and enhances the overall design.

smooth sailing

The client had this wonderful model of a ship built by her grandfather when he was 12. The challenge was to display it properly. The coloration of the bar cabinets, shiplap siding, as well as the diagonal wine storage are all nautical references without being cliche. A new acrylic stand set the ship afloat.

bronze beauty

Stair rails are events. We chose to make this one special by integrating a small bronze tile and brass rod into the steel assembly. A custom walnut handrail caps the whole assembly beautifully!

a room divided

The client had a large loft space with no intimacy. The solution was this custom shelving unit designed to divide the space while still providing transparency. The color was specifically chosen to add drama to space and visual weight to the piece.

interior light

Interior stairs don't have to be dark. Three large scale skylights flood this interior stair with an unexpected brightness. The custom iron railing opens up space and keeps the hallway bright as well.

heart of the home

A modern adaptation of the central fire pit, this fireplace was specifically designed to end a stair and provide a pivot point between a kitchen, breakfast area, and family room. It was fashioned of heat-resistant concrete with a custom flue and glass doors.

old school

The custom cabinetry of this Library was designed and detailed of antique heart pine to create a small and intimate space to relax and read. While based on historical documents, the detailing was provided by Ross Design. The glass doors and drop front desk are reminiscent of antique furniture.

powerful powder room

Tucked under a stair, every inch of this powder room became valuable. The asymmetrical approach maximized mobility space and successfully addresses functional needs. The custom slab was a "boneyard" find. We designed it to support a vessel sink and provide some shelf space. Folding it up the wall to the frameless mirror enlarged the space. A large piece of art and an off-center modern sconce complete the scene.

unassuming elegance

This fireplace surround was a very clean, simple, and elegant solution. It is deep enough to act as a mantle shelf without needing to add more. A great focal point for the entire space.
