This project entailed the addition of a second floor and the enclosure of the original courtyard of the home giving the 1930’s home a contemporary feel. Created for an artist and her husband, the dramatic volumes created by the addition provide a level of light rarely found in homes and provide an appropriate venue for their art collction. Skylights and windows provide a never ending interplay of light and shadow which make the house something special. Maintaining and matching original detailing maintained the character of the house within the context of the neighborhood.
